Baby C turned 17 months old on June 1st. He continues to grow each day. Now, he will point to his diaper when it needs to be changed. Does that mean he's showing readiness for potty training? Hmmm. He is feeding himself table food, which makes it easier for us at dinnertime. His favorite foods are strawberries, broccoli, and edamame. He does not like meat so much, which is odd since D LOVES meat. We are now disciplining him time to time when he acts up...like when he hits me, throws his toys, or throws a tantrum. It's only a 1 minute timeout in his highchair, facing the wall. After the timeout, I calmly talk to him about what happened, give him a hug and tell him that I love him. He then calms down. He doesn't say any real words yet, but he babbles a lot, which is cute. Baby C continues to mimic us. For example, he watches me clip his nails. Then he'll take the nail clipper and pretend to cut his own nails. Of course, the nail clipper is closed. He continues to make me laugh and smile everyday.
