Starting Solids

Baby C is turning 6 months in one week, so that means we get to start solids!  Yay!  How exciting!  Since D is on paternity leave, I thought we could give it a try this weekend.  We started with good ole rice cereal (HAPPYBELLIES Rice Cereal).  We bought the Bumkins Waterproof SuperBib and Munchkin Soft-Tip Infant Spoon because I read some great reviews.

Happy Bellies brand rice cereal

He seems to open his mouth when the spoon reaches it, but when I take out the spoon, Baby C just spits it right out.  I'm hoping some of the cereal reaches his tummy.  Hahaha.  I guess it's a little too early to start solids, but it's a start.

Most of the cereal is around his mouth, instead of in his mouth.  Lol
I can't wait to start making his baby food.  What should I start with?

Happy Father's Day!

On D's first Father's Day, we decided to have a quiet day together, just the 3 of us.  Hubby loves meat, so we had a BBQ at home.  We bought 3 to 4 pounds of kalbi, and also BBQed some hot dogs and marinated chicken.  It was delicious!  Afterwards, we went to the mall for a stroll.  All in all, iIt was a nice relaxing day together.

Look at the meat!

Happy 5 months to Baby C!

Baby C turned 5 months old on June 1, 2011.  He has been growing so quickly.  He is now wearing size 3 diapers and fits into 6 to 9 month clothes.  His bottom two teeth finally popped through the other day, but he has been waking up more often during the night because of the teething.  He is more interactive and smiles/laughs so much.  He is so curious about everything, and can get bored if he's in one position for a long time.  Therefore, we got him a jumperoo (Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo).  He loves it, and it can keep him occupied for about 30 minutes.

I can't believe he'll be 6 months soon.  I'm excited to start some solid foods though.  I'm gonna be ambitious and try making his food.  We'll see how that goes.

Glee Concert

My hubby and I attended the Glee Concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Friday, May 27, 2011.  Our friends, W & P, came with us, too.  I LOVED IT!  I'm a huge fan of the show, and couldn't help but sing along to all the songs.  My hubby, on the other hand, just took pictures for me and tried to withstand all the screaming around us.  We definitely should've brought earplugs.  What was funny was a bunch of our other friends were there, too.  :)  I also saw a bunch of people bring their iPads and recording performances with them.  Pretty funny watching people carrying iPads in the air.
