Ever since Toddler C turned 2 years old, I've been having a difficult time taking him out to public places by myself. Since I have Fridays off, I usually do most of my household chores and errands on that day. Before he turned 2, Toddler C would have no problem coming with me to Target or the grocery store and sit in the shopping cart patiently. If he would act up, Cheerios or a toy would keep him occupied.
Now, I dread going to the grocery store. He does not want to sit in the shopping cart anymore. If I strap him into the cart, he would yell at the top of his lungs. If I let him walk, he helps me push the cart, which is nice, but then he starts placing random items into our cart (salami, M&Ms, pickles, etc). The whole shopping trip is me placing all the items back. It just adds more work. So I end up giving up and drive home for the day. I wait for my hubby to come home, so I can go shopping all by myself.
Have any of you experienced this? How do you handle it?
